A Glimpse Into Our Beautiful CGC Community

12 July 2025 — a date that now holds such quiet joy in my heart.

That morning, we gathered in person for our Calligraphy Growth Circles (CGC) Playdate—a time to write, create, connect… and simply be.

And what a gift it was.

As I looked around the room—hearing bursts of laughter, watching smiles exchanged over wax seals and watercolor palettes—I was reminded all over again: this space was never just about calligraphy.

It has always been about community.

A Space to Explore and Grow

Whether it was trying pointed nib calligraphy for the first time or experimenting with woodless watercolor pencils, I saw each of you step gently into newness—with curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to play.

You gave yourselves permission to learn.
To ask questions.
To just begin.

There’s something sacred about that.

A Shout-Out to Christabel

One of my favourite moments?

When Christabel, a dear CGC member, stood up and offered to demo how to use wax seals—even though she had only recently learned it herself. She practiced quietly at home… and then brought that skill into our circle to bless others.

It was a beautiful reminder that we’re all growing—together. And when we’re willing to share what we’ve learned, we help someone else take their next step too.

Words That Encouraged My Heart

Later in the session, Jayne shared her heart.

She spoke about renewing her CGC membership for another year, and how she’s been using calligraphy to bless the moms and retirees in her church community. Her words deeply encouraged me—and reminded me again that these little letters we write can carry such life.

She also brought a water brush calligraphy piece she created without a template—her very first attempt. And it turned out absolutely stunning. Jayne has been part of CGC for over a year now, and her steady growth—both creatively and personally—has been such a joy to witness.

The Gift of Rachel

And Rachel—thank you for showing up so wholeheartedly.

From painting brush calligraphy with acrylic on wood, to joining our Zoom sessions with sincerity and thoughtfulness, your presence is a gift to this community.

You're also the talented florist behind @littleforestflowers, and your work inspires more than just the eye—it uplifts the soul.

Your progress in calligraphy, your authenticity, and the way you bless others with your creativity has left a mark on all of us.

Why We Keep Showing Up

I want to thank each of you who came for the 12 July session—and to those who couldn’t make it, you were missed.

This space is only possible because you bring your presence, your growth, your story.

Together, we keep showing up—not just with our pens, but with our hearts.

Because CGC isn’t just about lettering.
It’s about learning, becoming, and blessing others through what we create.

And that… is something truly beautiful.

With so much love,
Serene
