Every commissioned calligraphy piece or wax seal set from Sundays Dawn will now come with a little sticker, sharing what we stand for.
I'll be honest—I've never put much thought into packaging. In my mind, if the thing I'm creating is good, then how it comes packaged shouldn't really matter, right? After all, the focus should be on the craft, on the calligraphy work, on the message within. Or so I thought.
But recently, a friend of mine had me commission a calligraphy written piece for a special gift. As we were discussing the details, she said something that completely stopped me in my tracks: "Serene, how come your name Sundays Dawn isn't on the package? You are a brand. And I want my friend to get to know you and what you do too."
Whao... That got me thinking. She was right. I had been so focused on the work itself, the calligraphy words, the art, that I hadn't stopped to consider the bigger picture. Packaging is more than just a vessel—it’s part of the experience, part of telling the story of who you are and what you stand for.
I’ve always wanted my work to inspire growth and connection, and I realized that every touchpoint with a customer, even the package, can communicate that. So, I decided to take a step toward being more intentional in how I present Sundays Dawn to the world.
From now on, for every commissioned calligraphy piece that you get me to do, or any wax seal set that you purchase from Sundays Dawn, it will come with a little sticker—a simple way to share a bit of who we are with you. The sticker has the words Sundays Dawn, along with a few words that capture what we stand for: #slowdown #mindfullywrite #growpersonally #learntowritelikeacalligrapher. It's a small touch, but it feels like a meaningful step toward sharing the essence of Sundays Dawn.
For me, this is just the first step in creating something more intentional with the way we package our work. It’s a small change, but one that feels aligned with my values of growth and authenticity. My hope is that when someone receives their piece, they’ll not only appreciate the calligraphy but also feel a little spark of connection to the heart behind it.
This journey, though small, feels like it's in the right direction. It's a little shift—something that could lead to bigger things—but for now, I'm excited about putting out a piece of who we are, intentionally.
Thanks for being part of this journey with me, and for taking the time to slow down and enjoy the beauty in every stroke, and every step along the way.
P.S. Huge shoutout to Singa Printing, who printed the stickers for me. I absolutely love the quality and the seamless process in getting them done! If you’re a local small business looking for affordable and reliable printing, I highly recommend them.
